What today is about
The other major hazard family, and the move that surprises everyone.
So far we've talked about earthquakes and tsunamis, hazards we can engineer against. Today we add volcanism, and we introduce the engineering toolkit you'll use in the Tectonic City Builder. But here's the twist: some hazards have no engineering defense. You can't build a wall against a pyroclastic flow. Only distance and early warning save lives.
Naming what each technology does (and what it can't do) is the foundation for every decision you'll make in the simulator across Blocks 4–10. Get this wrong now, and you'll spend your budget on tech that doesn't protect against the hazard your city actually faces.
