Block 4: Whole-Class Sim + First Independent Attempt
Today you run the simulator yourself for the first time: Tōhoku scenario, same as the demo.
Task: Predict your score band (0–40 / 40–70 / 70+), and which budget line you'll overspend. Stem: "I expect to overspend on ___ because ___."
Answer in your Field Notebook, dated.
I have completed my first independent Tectonic City Builder attempt on the Tōhoku scenario AND logged an engineering journal entry on what the debrief screen told me.
I can use a simulation to test how my design choices play out before committing to them.
"Use a computer simulation to model the impact of proposed solutions to a complex real-world problem with numerous criteria and constraints on interactions within and between systems relevant to the problem."

Engineering Design Portfolio: logged sim iterations (T/T)
On track looks like:
Each iteration is tested in the simulator and its outputs cited as evidence: changed, run, compared.
I can use numbers, budgets, and computational tools to reason about a problem.

U3 sim iterations: score and budget reasoning in the engineering journal
On track looks like:
Your journal cites the numbers (scores, budget lines) and reasons from them.
This block is a Phase 6 stub
Full content lands when Unit 3 is built out further.
Block 4 is the first hands-on session with the Tectonic City Builder. Whole-class teacher-led Tōhoku attempt first; debrief screen analyzed together; then the first independent sim attempt with all students on the same scenario. Engineering journal entry required at the end.
